Shindig #52 (UK):
"Portland, Oregon’s stripes and paisley clad The Reverberations are one of the newest and boldest garage band contenders for quite some time.
They do a terrific job in conveying some of the songwriting ideals that were hip to the trip in 1966; check out their fuzz-clad topside mover, “Lost In Tyme”, and the lip-curling flip “Why Should I Care”. But it’s the highly effective, charm-laden, timeless pop jangle blowout of “The Way I Want You” on which Dave Berkham and pals really show off their colors, coming on like the inspired offspring of The Choir, The Four Fifths and The Dovers all at once.
They have an ear for strong melodic structures, yet can also knock out tunes with an intrinsically more rockiest approach that recalls such greats as The Flaming’ Groovies.
Yes, it’s that good!
Their debut LP is expected early next year and if this is anything to go by will certainly be worth the wait.
There’s not a lot of purist garage band fare around today and there’s a need for it.
Here ’tis! (Lenny Helsing)"

"Hidden Volume KOTJ Records Records are honored to join forces to produce the first reference of The Reverberations, a record that helps exalt the splendid and indispensable catalog of both labels. A treat that will soon disappear from the shelves of shops finest drives, and comes wrapped in a compelling cover Mik Baro Wizard. The Portland opened fire with "Lost In Tyme," which more than a song is a manifesto, one heartbreaking confession of who is lost in a generation that is not theirs; how not to feel out of place in times like these that have had to live, dear listener, you also happens right? Do not worry, The Reverberations are here to invite you to a sound journey in their particular time machine, whose fuel is the fuzz, distortion and howling. Our regression continues with "Why Should I Care?" Which explores the vein opened by the first track to polish a diamond genuine garajero sound, a subject in which the very same Cynics would sell his soul to the devil; 48 carat sprawl. At this point, I appreciated listener, his turntable longer be begging for mercy and 45 rpm will have been insufficient to follow the pace set by The Reverberations, but do not worry, the band takes his foot off the accelerator and closes the album with an excellent half Time scented gum, powerpop and British Invasion. "The Way I Want You" is the first song the band hung on his Bandcamp, a song that could be downloaded for free on 13 and 14 February, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, and serves as a brooch disk, thus closing a perfect circle
Once the needle reaches the last microsurco you will regain consciousness, so the muscles relax, the tension leave your body and get up slowly. How is honorable listener? He kept wanting more right? We, too, have been less than nine minutes, three songs that serve to place in the disparadero to The Reverberations, threatening to publish their debut LP in autumn; It sounds like candidate to take the upper hand the German label Screaming Apple. Until then, and to make the wait more bearable, you can repeat the process above mentioned, but do it responsibly and carefully, each listening to this EP generates greater addiction; the effects of such exposure have not been studied. "From our friends at Hidden Volume Records comes the Debut EP “Lost In Time” by The Reverberations. The lead off tune “Lost In Time” doesn’t miss any of the marks for a hit single. full of sweet riffs, catchy sing along lyrics, The Reverberations are ready to get you groovin to the notion that rock n roll is alive and doing fantastically well. I’ve waited for this EP for quite a few months, the anticipation made me feel like I was 16 hanging out at National Record Mart before the doors opened for that new David Bowie Album.I knew there was no way that I would be left wanting more, The Reverberations are utterly superb and this entire EP helps drive that notion all the way to the dance floor. Enough from me, give a listen to the whole EP, check out the always awesome art work that comes with The Hidden Volume stamp of approval. It’s all , off the hook….."
